Stats & Studies

Some basic crime facts and statistics you should know:

  • A burglar enters a home in the US every 5 seconds.
  • 60% of burglaries occur while a home is occupied, and 38% of robberies are committed with firearms.
  • The average home intrusion causes in excess of $1,000 in damages, and over $2,800 in loss of property.
  • Recent FBI studies have proven that security systems make your home 15 times less likely to be victimized.
  • 38% of assaults & 60% of rapes occur during home invasions.
  • 1 of every 5 homes will experience a break-in or home invasion.
  • Statistically, there are over 8,000 home invasions per day in North America

Other burglar habits:

  • Most burglars are lazy: They like to get into a house the same way you do - by walking through a door. And a door is the easiest way for them to get out with what they have stolen. After doors, windows are the next most likely target. So, even if you do nothing else to secure your home, adding security measures to your doors and windows needs to be your primary concern. 80% of break-ins occur through a locked door, and 60% come right through your front door.
  • Daytime burglaries - Are you less concerned about burglary during the day? Do you leave any doors or windows unlocked during the day? Do you ever leave the house to go next door, down the block or to the store during the day and leave a door unlocked? Today, daytime burglaries happen as often as nighttime burglaries. Burglaries are more likely to occur between the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM in the afternoon. This is the time neighborhoods are empty. The children are in school, moms are at work, shopping or involved in civic work. This is a perfect time for a burglar to do his work without being noticed.

Information about fire damage:

  • Fire is the 3rd leading cause of accidental death in the U.S., and a home fire occurs every 72 seconds. In fact, an average of 20 people die in home fires every day.

“I cannot tell you how much safer I feel now that I have a security system protecting me and my 2 teenage daughters. I have always been nervous at night and it was hard for me to sleep. I just feel so much better knowing that we are safe. I have used the two-way voice feature a couple of times now it is was so easy. The customer service has been great.  Don’t wait for 10 years like I did.”
- Susan R., Fresno, CA

“As soon as I had my first son I new without a question I couldn’t sleep at night without knowing he was protected. I can’t thank you enough for the free security system. I love having the key chain remote that I can just arm the system when I pull out of the driveway. It has been so easy to own. Thanks again.”
- Rebecca W., Pittsburgh, PA

“I live in a fairly rough part of town and the only protection I had was our dog in the back yard until I got this free security system.  I was able to protect all my doors and I even have smoke alarms connected to the fire department. I know they work because we burned dinner one night and we immediately had someone on the control panel asking us if we are okay. The was so great.”
